BREAKING IN PROCEDURE FOR BARRELS
Recommendation for breaking in a new barrel so it will give you many years of use.
Calibers 17, 22 & 25
Should be cleaned every shot for the first 125 rounds with a clean cotton swab and then dry patched.
Calibers 6.5, 270 & 7MM
Should follow the same step for at least the first 100 rounds.
Calibers 30 and Bigger
Follow the same steps for at least the first 85 rounds.
If you swab and dry patch your new barrel you will get no carbon buildup in the pores.
It's a hard day's work but it pays off in the long run!
Happy Shooting
